Title and meta description checker
See your page the way a searcher sees it, and find out before you publish whether Google will cut your headline in half.
Google preview
Google rewrites titles and descriptions when it thinks it can do better, so treat this as the best case. Staying inside the width makes a rewrite less likely.
What actually makes a snippet get clicked
Width beats character count. Google truncates on rendered pixels, which is why a title full of capitals and Ms gets cut sooner than one full of lowercase Ls. This tool measures the real width, so ignore the old 60 character rule.
Put the keyword first, the brand last. The left of the title is what people read. If your brand name eats the first 20 characters on every page, you are spending your best space on something they already know.
The description is ad copy, not a summary. It does not rank you, it sells the click. Say what the reader gets and give them a reason to pick you over the eight other results on screen.
Write a different one for every page. Duplicate titles across a site are one of the most common issues we find in a visibility audit, and one of the quickest to fix.
